Kiwanis
Radio Days
On Saturday, March 29, the Owego Kiwanis Club will broadcast its 46th Annual Radio Day on News Radio 1330-AM WEBO. The Owego Kiwanis Club is actively looking for sponsors for their 46th Annual Radio Day Broadcast on WEBO 1330 AM. The Kiwanis Radio Day is an annual fund raiser for the Owego Kiwanis Club supporting the youth activities of our community. For a $100 donation, the sponsor will receive ten thirty-second radio ads during the month of March and two thirty-second radio ads on March 29 during the Radio Day program. Kiwanis is a thriving organization of men, women and youth dedicated to serving the children of the world and improving the quality of life worldwide. Owego Kiwanis is celebrating 83 years of serving the youth of our community. Owego Kiwanis President Pete Windover stated, "Serving the youth of our community is a primary mission of Kiwanis. Radio Day is always a wonderful opportunity to assist local children's programming through business sponsorships. The enduring partnership with WEBO has benefitted the youth activities in this region for decades." News Radio 1330 WEBO is Owego's only local radio station and is run by Dave Radigan the President & General Manager of Radigan Broadcasting. Radigan stated, "Kiwanis Radio Day is an exciting annual event for the Kiwanis Club and we're proud that we can help make it happen." The station prides itself on being the station where Tioga County comes first, providing at least 26 local newscasts each weekday, as well as broadcasting Football and Basketball games live. "I think the community looks forward to this event every year, and it's a real treat to keep doing this event on WEBO." "Donations made via the Kiwanis Radio Day this year will include radio commercials for sponsors not just during the Radio Day, but throughout the entire month to help gain awareness of the Kiwanis Radio Day Broadcast and benefit the Kiwanis advertisers," Radigan stated. This fund raiser is the Kiwanis Club's single largest annual fund raising event for the Owego Kiwanis Club. The Radigan Broadcasting Group donates air time to the Kiwanis Club for this event every year. Additionally, all of the commercials are professionally written and recorded by the radio station at no charge. Contributions raised during Kiwanis Radio Day have sponsored the following community programs: A New Hope Center, Camp Ahwaga, El Rancho De Paz, Owego Police Delinquency Prevention Program, Owego Free Academy Key Club, Owego Free Academy Booster Club, Owego Little League & Teener League, Tioga County Boys & Girls Club, Ti-Ahwaga Players Theater, Toys for Tots, and Waterman Conservation Center. To make a donation to the Kiwanis Club in
exchange for radio advertisements during this event, businesses are asked
to call Jeff Stoke at 625-4889 prior to Friday, March 14, 2008.
