Fire Destroys Owego Home

A passer-by reported a fire at a house at 60 West Avenue in Owego at 9:40 am on Sunday, February 24.

The Owego Fire Department responded to the scene, but the house, which was built in the late 1800s, was completely destroyed.

Mary Kay Ebbers and her three children were inside the house when the fire started, but they managed to escape without injury. The family's pet dog died.

According to the Owego Fire Department, the fire started in the laundry room.
