Village of Owego Receives Restoration Funds

Assemblyman Gary D. Finch (R,C-Springport) has announced that the Village of Owego will receive state funding from the Restore NY program in the amount of $180,000 to restore the Downtown Owego Historic District.

"I am very pleased that the Village of Owego has been awarded a Restore NY grant to renovate the second and third floors of mixed-use buildings in downtown Owego and transform the upper floors of the commercial areas into housing units. The Restore NY program is the culmination of a collaborative effort between the governor and our legislative leaders.  The Village of Owego Historic District is a very important part of our heritage and the grant will help revitalize the community."

The Restore NY program is intended to develop local economies and neighborhoods by awarding grant money to municipalities for the revitalization of commercial and residential properties.  The Village of Owego is one of sixty-four recipients in this round of Restore NY Grants.
