Dinner Benefits Local Family
Members of the Owego community have united to host a Spaghetti Dinner Benefit for local businessman Jim Morris, Sr., owner of Jim's Upholstery on McMaster Street. The dinner will take place Sunday, February 24, beginning at 12:00 Noon at the Owego VFW Post Hall, 207 Main Street, Owego. Mr. Morris suffered a heart attack in early December. Soon after his heart attack he was diagnosed with a failing aortic valve which required surgery. The surgery was successful however doctors have restricted Mr. Morris from returning to work for at least two months. With increasing medical expenses and the inability to work at his business, local community members have stepped forward to organize this Spaghetti Dinner Benefit to help the Morris family in their time of need. Several activities are planned for the benefit
including:
"We are happy to support this worthy cause. Hopefully we can raise some much needed money for the Morris family," said Dean Smith, Rhythm Guitar Player for Nasty Habits. All proceeds will be donated to Amiee and Jim Morris, Sr. If you are unable to attend the dinner and still would like to contribute please send your contributions to: Jim Morris Benefit, P.O. Box 243, Owego, NY 13827. All are invited to attend the event.
The cost is donation at the door.
