Foundation Accepting Grant Applications
The OA Foundation for Excellence in Education is accepting grant applications for this year. Application will be accepted through March 15, 2008. To apply for a grant application, submit a written request with name, address, phone number and organization name to the OA Foundation for Excellence in Education, PO Box 576, Apalachin, NY 13732. Or you may download the application until February 29 at www.OAFoundation.com . Upon receipt of request, a copy of the application with instructions will be mailed to you. Completed grant applications must be received or postmarked on or before March 15, 2008. The foundation is a community wide, independent, non-profit organization. Its mission is to enhance the education of the students within the Owego Apalachin district boundaries, public and non-public, by providing private funding and stimulating community support for innovative and challenging programs. Students (with an adult supervisor/sponsor), teachers, staff, parents, residents, businesses and/or agencies can submit ideas for grants. The applicants must demonstrate that at least 75% of the students benefitting from the project attend public or non-public schools within the Owego Apalachin District boundaries. The foundation will be looking for ideas that will help prepare students for the challenges of this century and enhance their educational experiences. The foundation encourages requests up to
$500 per grant request, one request per person, no grants requesting money
for stipends will be accepted. Grant monies must be used within one year
of acceptance.
