The past year, 2007, has been a year of progress and hope for the Home Textile Tool Museum in Orwell, Pennsylvania (just 12 miles south of Route 17/Exit 62). The Museum Board extends a big thank-you for the enthusiastic volunteers and for our generous friends and supporters.

 The volunteers, several joining us for the first time in 2007, set up the large demonstration tent; organized special displays; plowed, planted and harvested; welcomed visitors; demonstrated their textile and other expertise; put books and periodicals in order; completed electrical upgrades; and one single-handedly put out our publicity. Thanks to all, from 8 to 90, who gave their time and talents to the museum.

 Generous donations through the "Friends of the Museum" and from memorial gifts, have provided funds for matching two important grant awards this past year. The first grant supported all of our 2007 programming. A second grant award to the Home Textile Tool Museum, from PA Heritage Park Program funding, will allow work to begin for the Federal House Restoration, which includes plans for a Textile Research library. Special gifts have been a lifeline which keeps the Textile Museum moving toward goals set by the original Founders.

 All of us at HTTM are looking forward to the 2008 Season, with the extended program through September. Please continue to support the Home Textile Tool Museum this coming summer by visiting, bringing your family and friends. We have planned new and interesting displays, along with educational demonstrations for all ages. Look for our colorful 2008 Programs displayed in Libraries and other public places.
