| Homeschoolers'
Talent Night and Coffeehouse
Local homeschoolers from Tioga County will host a Talent Night and Coffeehouse at the Owego Church of the Nazarene from 7:00 to 9:30 pm on Friday, February 22. from 7:00 to 9:30 PM. This show will be put on by the local LEAH (Loving Education at Home) chapter. LEAH is a state-wide Christian homeschooling organization, with more than 3,700 member families across New York state. The Tioga County chapter is made up of more than 50 families supporting each other in the adventure of homeschooling. The event will showcase some of the many talents of the local homeschooling community, while serving up delicious goodies, coffee, and soda. An amazing array of entertainment has been lined up, including many musical acts (both instrumental and vocal); several dance troops (including one from the New Life Training Center); sign language interpretation, poetry, and drama skits. This promises to be an enjoyable night, and the general public is invited to attend. The only cost for this event is a free-will offering, to benefit a local homeschooling family whose daughter was seriously injured in a car accident last fall. The Owego Church of the Nazarene is on Route 17C West in Owego. For more information on this event, or on
homeschooling in general, call Rebecca Kasperek at 687-2774.
