Fire Destroys Trailers

Three mobile homes located between Route 434 and Old Owego Road in Apalachin were destroyed by an afternoon fire on Wednesday, January 23.
    The fire started while one of the residents was using heat tape to thaw a frozen water pipe.
    The flames rapidly spread to two adjacent trailers. Fire fighters from Apalachin, Campville, and Vestal fought the blaze for several hours before it was under control. No one was injured.
   Thanks to the quick response of the local fire departments, the fire was contained to only three trailers in the park.
