Always on Sunday Concert 
Features Swing Street Jazztet

 On Sunday, February 17, from 3:00 to -4:30 pm, the Tioga County Council on the Arts will present its second in a free four-part series "Always on Sunday" at the First Presbyterian Union Church, (corner of Temple Street and North Avenue in Owego.

 The "Swing Street Jazztet" led by Al Hamme, with William Carter, Andrew Williams, Tom Whaley, Cork Klinko and Harold Reynolds, will present a program entitled  "The History of Jazz" (in an hour and a half). Selections range from Traditional or Classic Jazz (Dixieland) - New Orleans (1910) to Chicago (1920); the Swing Era - Big Bands (1930's); Modern Jazz - Be-Bop (1940), Cool (1949), Hard Bop or Funk (1955), Jazz-rock and Fusion (beginning as early as the 1960's).

 This program is made possible, in part, with funds from the Cooper Foundation, the Tioga County Senior Citizens Foundation, Senator Thomas W. Libous and the New York State Council on the Arts Presenting Program (a state agency). 

 Although the concerts are free, tickets are suggested (but not required) and may be obtained at the Tioga County Council on the Arts office, 179 Front Street, Owego.
