Owego Church Awards Scholarships

St. Paul's Episcopal Church of Owego has awarded six scholarships to young adults within its parish family.

Those graduates receiving scholarships are: Sierra Bartz of Newark Valley, Eric Berghorn of Tioga Center, Juan Pena of Owego, Jonathan Tiffany of Owego, Joe Tirinato of Apalachin and Gene Tirinato of Apalachin.  All graduating seniors and those continuing their education at an accredited school were eligible.

The scholarship fund has been built up by a number of endowments by parishioners both past and present.  These endowments are distributed to college students from the parish in the form of spring and fall scholarships.  The amount of the award is determined by the vestry in accordance with the guidelines established by the committee with this Spring 2008 semester recipients each being awarded four hundred dollars.

St. Paul's Episcopal Church Scholarship Committee and the parish members wish them the best of success in their future educational plans.  Please follow the guidelines for the Fall 2008 awards and have them into the church office by July 15, 2008.
