Library Completes
Barn Replacement Project The Apalachin Library has completed its Barn Replacement Project. This Capital Improvement Project to the Apalachin Library involved replacing a dilapidated storage barn with a garage-size storage shed. The new shed will be used to store library materials, supplies, and used books that cannot be store in the library building. This project was funded by grants from the Ahearn Foundation and the Gannett Foundation, in the amounts of $4598 and $3000 respectively. The grants funded the purchase of the new structure and upgrades to the associated lighting and electrical service. Thanks go to Rick Cafferty who removed the old barn, at no cost to the library and who plans to reconstruct it on his property on Pennsylvania Avenue, Apalachin.
