Off ...
The trotters and pacers are out practicing at Tioga Downs in Nichols getting ready for opening day of the second season of harness racing on Friday May 11 with a post time of 6:50 pm. This season there are 57 race days, from May 11 to September 14. Racing will be on Friday, Saturday (post time 6:50 pm) and Sunday (post time of 1:15 pm). There are races set for two Mondays, July 23 and August 20 (post time 6:50). This year, if you can’t make
down to the track, you can listen to the races on the radio. Owego’s
radio station WEBO-AM-1330 has teamed up with Tioga Downs to broadcast
races on Fridays from May 11 to July 13, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. The races
will be broadcast with a slight delay. WEBO’s program will include interviews
with drivers, trainers, horse owners, track announcer, handicappers, and
race fans. Races can also be viewed on line at the Tioga Downs web site
www.TiogaDowns.com
