How to Create, Sustain Community Trails

 The Tioga County Active Living Partnership will be conducting a conference for anyone interesting in learning more about creating and sustaining community trails. The event will be held at the Waterman Conservation Education Center, 403 Hilton Road, Apalachin on Wednesday, May 23, from 8:30 am to 2:00 pm. The cost is $15.00 per person and includes a continental breakfast and lunch.
 Keynote speaker, Karl Beard from the National Park Service - Rivers and Trails Program will talk about the benefits of community trails and what is required to support a trail project. Conference sessions include: Trail Design and Community Collaboration, Trail Implementation & Strategies for Funding, and Using Volunteers for Trail Maintenance.
