Come race your ducks on Garage Sale Days, Saturday, May 12, in Newark Valley. This fun event is for kids and adults alike. 

 On May 12, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm on the Newark Valley Village Green 
the NV Happenings Committee will be selling plastic ducks with numbers on them for 50 cents a piece.     Each duck you buy will be registered to you.  At 1:00 pm, the duck racers will meet on the Water Street bridge in Newark Valley. At the starting sound, the racers will throw their ducks over the side of the bridge into the water below - then head to the Trout Ponds where there will be a net to catch the ducks.  

 The duck that makes it to the net first is the winner and there will be a prize for the owner of the winning duck. 

 You may purchase as many ducks as you want. Come enter the competition and cheer on your winning duck.
