1936 - Kraft instant macaroni and cheese
dinner arrives.
1936 - Girl Scout cookies are sold for 25 cents
a box.
1937 - Hormel brings a new product to the market
called Spam.
1939 - The first Chocolate morsel by Nestle.
1941 - M&M's Plain Chocolate Candies debut
in six colors; red, green, yellow, orange, brown, and violet.
1946 - It's cool; Minute Maid frozen orange juice
concentrate is available in the frozen section of the grocery store.
1946 - French's presents instant mashed potatoes.
1953 - Swanson's first TV dinner, turkey, mashed
potatoes and peas.
1954 - Butterball Turkeys are here for Thanksgiving
time.
1955 - General Foods introduces an instant orange
juice. After only a few short weeks on the market, Tang becomes one
of the most popular drinks in American because every child wants to drink
what the astronauts drink in outer space.
1958 - Häagen-Dazs ice cream is introduced
by Reuben Mattus.
1964 - Nachos are born at the Dallas State Fair.
1964 - Buffalo chicken wings come into existence
for the first time from the Anchor Bar in Buffalo, New York.
1965 - Gatorade first appears in the grocery
store.

Tip of the Month
Peeling Avocado's - With a sharp paring
knife, halve the avocado by cutting from top to bottom, down to the pit.
Twist the halves apart and remove the pit. Then slice the flesh in the
shell crosswise. To dice, cut again lengthwise. With a shallow oval spoon,
scoop out of the shell.
