The lower level of the county office building is still partitioned off in plastic even though this lower level has indeed been well cleaned. But hanging from the ceiling are many and large remains of electrical fixtures that constitute an immediate safety hazard. When I asked the chairman of the public works committee why these hazards had not been removed I was told that first "we need a plan."

I am greatly disappointed that we have already commenced partitioning space within the office building without a plan but have not seen fit to remove existing safety hazards. Even as a partition was being installed in the personnel officer's quarters for storage by the treasurer, a computer of some sort was in active operation behind stage in the auditorium and another was active within the restricted space below. I am greatly concerned that the county has begun treating the office building as it did 231 Main Street. I am even more concerned that public funds are being expended without an overall plan agreed upon by the whole legislature.
