The Owego Apalachin Central School District Music Department presents Jazz 
Night on Thursday, February 15, 7:30 pm at the Owego-Apalachin Theater, 3 Sheldon Guile Blvd in Owego. Admission is free.   The special featured guest artist this year is Andrew Williams, trombonist, bassist and recording engineer. Mr. Williams will be joining the Owego Free Academy Jazz Bands I and II under the direction of Daniel Fabricius, and the Owego Apalachin Middle School "SOS" and "Elm Street" bands under the direction of Andrew Kearney.  

 Andrew Williams began his professional career while still in high school in Rochester, NY.  He has appeared with jazz stars including Freddie Hubbard, Slide Hampton, Jimmy Heath, Wynton Marsalis, Frank Foster, Billy Mitchell, Jon Hendricks and Milt Jackson.  Also having an interest in Classical and Symphonic music, he can be found performing with the Syracuse Symphony, Binghamton Philharmonic, and Bellayre Festival Orchestra. In addition, he can be heard with the Williams/Reitz duo of trombone and piano, performing concert works in recital settings.  

 As the owner of the Sir Pent Studio for Recording in Manhattan, Andrew engineered over a hundred jazz recording sessions, as well as work in the field of location recording for acoustic music, design in electronics for audio, and acoustics.  Technology and performance do cross over, and he has appeared on many CDs as performer as well, most notably with Andy Farber (Double A), Slide Hampton (Inclusion), The New Jazz Composers Octet (First Steps Into Reality) and Anne Hampton Callaway (To Ella With Love).
