The Tioga County Master Gardeners of Cornell Cooperative Extension are holding two classes, Insect Invaders and Water Gardens, in February. Both classes will be held in the auditorium of the County Office Building at 56 Main Street in Owego. 

 On Thursday, February 15, 6:30 to  8:00 pm, Insect Invaders will show you how to identify and control common and not so common pests that invade our homes, woods and gardens in Tioga County and let you know about the new invasive insects to be on the look out for. You'll learn how to control these insects with safe, environmentally friendly techniques. The cost of this class is $3.00. 

 On Wednesday, February 28, 6:30 to 8:00 pm, Water Gardens will show you how to start a water garden or improve the one you have. Tim Schwender of Totalily Water Gardens will discuss planning, installation, plants, fish, critters and maintenance. Mr. Schwender has over two decades of experience in water garden design, installation and maintenance. The cost of this class is $5.00.
