• Natural Hide Tanning
January 26 thru 28, Friday - Sunday
Learn to tan your hide the ancient natural
way. Primitive technologist, Doug Jenks, will guide you though the steps
involved to naturally tan a deer hide by using organic materials. This
process will take three consecutive days and is labor intensive. Learn
the Native American philosophy regarding hunting and the use of animals.
You will keep the hide you tan. Hours are January 26, 6 to 9 pm; January
27, 10 am to 3 pm; and January 28, 8am to 5pm.
For ages 11 to adult. Registration is required
as space is limited. $50 members/ $65 non-members.

• Ski & Snow Shoe Rentals
You can rent cross country ski and snow
shoe equipment from 10 am to 3 pm at the Waterman Center, snow permitting.
The center is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Call
ahead to determine if your size is available.
• Christmas Tree Recycling
Waterman Center is accepting your old Christmas
trees as part of an on-going recycling project. Drop your tree off at the
Waterman Center parking lot and the Town of Owego Highway Department will
chip them up for use on the center's trails.
