AARP Driver Safety Classes

 The following AARP Driver Safety Classes will be held in our community:

 • Apalachin - October 19 and 20, 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, Apalachin Methodist Church, Instructor is Dic Ramm. Call 687-3227 or 625-2733 to register. 

 • Apalachin - October 30 and 31, 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, at the Apalachin Park Terrace Methodist Church, Glann Road. Instructor is Norma Brown. Call 587-3599 to register.

 • Owego - October 16 and 17, from 6:00 to 10:00 pm, Owego Community Center. Instructor is Norma Brown. Call 587-3599 to register.

 • Owego - October 31 and November 1, 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, at Owego Nazarene Church, Instructor is Carl Larson, Jr. Call 687-a4325 to register.

 • Spencer - October 17 and 18, 5:00 to 9:00 pm, Spencer Federated Church, Butch Crowe Instructor. Call 587-3599 to register. 

 Attendance is required at both sessions of a class in order to receive the certificate for insurance reduction or point reduction cases. The fee for (which covers both sessions) is $10.

  The AARP State Coordinator for the AARP Driver Safety Program (DSP) Ralph Schlesinger of Albany has announced the appointment of Norma Sue Brown of Owego as the new Assistant State Coordinator for the program. Brown replaces Cy Strever of Candor who retired from the position in May 2006.

 The district being supervised by Brown covers all of Tioga County with six instructors under her supervision.
