Free Workshop for Prospective Homebuyers

The U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development will hold a Money Smart workshop for prospective homebuyers on Tuesday, September 19 and Thursday, September 21. The sessions will be held from 4:30 to 6:00 pm at the Broome County Library at 185 Court Street in Binghamton.

The workshop will cover four topics: money management, basic banking services, understanding credit and home purchasing, which explains the steps an individual must complete to buy their own home. Money Smart is sponsored by Rural Development's Single Family Housing program, which administers grant and loan
programs for very-low and low-income persons living in rural areas.

The workshop is free but reservations are required. To reserve a seat, call the Binghamton Area Rural Development office at (607) 723-1384, extension 4.
