Book Signings for New Owego Novel
by Anne O. Stout

Local author Robert White  released his new historical fiction novel, Susquehanna Scandal, in mid August; but will be holding book signings on Saturday, September 9, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm at the 75th Anniversary celebration of the Candor Free Library. The Candor Free Library will be holding a one day celebration complete with local authors, dignitaries, music and refreshments to just name some of the fun. The celebration centers on the joy of reading.

White will be on hand to sign his latest work, Susquehanna Scandal, which actually takes place in 1852 Owego and, though a fiction novel, readers will find the historical items very factual.

A book signing will also be held on Friday, September 15, from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm at the Riverow Book shop on 187 Front Street in Owego, and the book will be available at Riverow before the signing.

The story of this fiction novel is actually intertwined with a legend of Owego history, and White is currently hard at work writing the non-fiction sequel to Susquehanna Scandal.  He is also working on his next fiction novel.

White has been the author of many non-fiction essays and articles on various subjects and has taken classes in creative writing and flash fiction as well.

Be sure to get your copy of this new novel and get the feeling of life in Tioga County in 1852.
