At Tioga Downs

Tioga Downs Opens, Racing Begins
 Tioga Downs in Nichols opened on June 9 with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony (See photo above). Live harness racing is offered four  days a week in July, but dozens of harness and thoroughbred races can be seen every day of the week on flat-screen TVs in the posh simulcast theater.
 Gates open for simulcast one hour prior to the first race post time and will end sometime after 12:00 a.m. throughout the week. Advance sales for simulcast programs will start the night before at 7:30 p.m. 
Gaming Floor Opens July 10
 The formal Grand Opening  of the Gaming Floor will be Monday, July 10. The grand opening of the 750 video gaming machines floor  was scheduled to be opened Wednesday, June 28, but was rescheduled because of the area flooding.
Tioga Downs Supports Flood Relief Effort
 Tioga Downs is helping with flood relief efforts by offering complimentary meals to public safety personnel. Any safety agency personnel with proper ID will receive complimentary buffet meals at the Tioga Downs property in Nichols. Law enforcement, firefighting, emergency medical, rescue, National Guard, or other public safety personnel are welcome. 
 This complimentary meal support, which began July 3, will be sustained for as long as these public safety personnel remain in the region performing flood relief duties.
