Ashley Darrah Crowned
Little Miss Apalachin 2006
Ashley Darrah, daughter of Don and Stephanie Darrah, was crowned Little Miss Apalachin 2006 at the Apalachin Firemen's Field Days last month. Ashley is the granddaughter of Steven and Cindy Zembery and Henry and Donna Darrah of Apalachin. She attends Apalachin Elementary School
Breana Howe, daughter of Brandy and Matt Howe, was chosen as the Runner-Up in this year's contest. Breana is the granddaughter of Cheryl and Jim Scheffer of Apalachin, and Chris and Denise Hall of Endicott. She attends Apalachin Elementary School.
Judges of the contest were Kayley Siebert, Lieutenant for the Apalachin Fire Department, Karen Vinti, School Resource Officer for the Owego-Apalachin School District and Owego Police Officer; and Jan Warner, Captain for the Apalachin Fire Department.
The contest was open to 8- and 9-year-old girls who reside within the Apalachin Fire District. The girls were judged on communication skills, appearance, and personality.
Jay Manarky of Owego was Master of Ceremonies for the contest.
