Free Lunch Program at Waverly Kid's Café
Youth from 3- to 18-years-old can get a nutritious, free lunch
this summer between 12:00 Noon and 1:00 pm, Monday through Friday, at the
Phoenix Kid's Café and Youth Center in Waverly, NY, on the corner
of Broad and Waverly Streets.
The program will run throughout the summer months. All youth
are eligible to participate. They just have to register at the Phoenix,
which they can do the first time they stop by for lunch.
The Phoenix Kid's Café and Youth Center is a project of
Cornell Cooperative Extension of Tioga County. It provides a safe place
for youth in grades 7 through 12 to go after school to get free snacks,
receive homework help, and participate in nutrition education, job skills
training and community service projects.
The free lunch program is made possible by support from the USDA
Summer Food Service Program.
