Harness Racing Starts at Tioga Downs on June 9
Gaming Starts on June 28

 Tioga Downs has announced the following dates and post times for the long-anticipated opening of its harness racing facility in Nichols:

  Friday, June 9 - 6:50 pm
  Saturday, June 10, 6:50 pm
  Sunday, June 11, 12:45 pm

 These dates will continue on a weekly basis until July 4th weekend, when Saturday racing moves to Monday nights. To add excitement to the July 4th weekend, the post time on Monday, July 3rd is 12:45 pm. 

 Thereafter, harness racing at Tioga Downs will be:
  Friday - 6:50 pm post time
  Sunday - 12:45 pm post time
  Monday - 6:50 pm post time

 "We're elated that after a three decade absence, racing at the Tioga track will commence on June 9 beginning a 15-week season that is bound to appeal to harness racing fans and sports fans alike," said Jason Settlemoir, VP of Racing and Simulcast at Tioga Downs. "Fine quality horses are arriving at the stables from tracks all over North America. These are the horses race fans will see competing in just a few weeks," he added.

 The other component of Tioga Downs, Video Lottery Terminal gaming, opens on June 28 which will complete the picture. "People in the Twin Tiers area will not want to miss our twin grand opening celebrations - our racing grand opening on the evening of June 9, and then, after a month-long schedule of special activities, the grand opening celebration for our gaming facility on June 28," said Doug Tudman, Regional Director of Marketing. "We think our guests will be amazed at the beautiful interior of the Tioga Downs facility. The design is a ‘County Fair' theme that carries throughout the entire building," Tudman continued. 

 Tioga Downs will feature VLT gaming, harness racing with indoor and outdoor viewing areas, live entertainment, the County Fair buffet, Coasters Sports Bar with 14 flat screen TVs, the Finish Line Deli, a simulcast racing theater, an outdoor patio and other amenities.
