The Village of Newark Valley Downtown Strategic Plan Committee Needs You

 A revival of our Newark Valley Downtown is underway. Your help is needed to redevelop the downtown. A  Community-Wide Interactive Public Meeting will be held at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, May 23, in the Noble Room of the Municipal Building. The public meeting is a free event and will provide an opportunity for the public to comment on the Downtown Strategic Plan. 

 The Village of Newark Valley is in the process of developing a Downtown Strategic Plan to enhance the quality of life for all Village residents and visitors. A clear vision will be created to help revitalize and rehabilitate the downtown, both physically and economically. The Downtown Strategic Plan will also include a Graphic Design Plan and Conceptual Designs that will demonstrate how the central business district can evolve.

 The village has established an Advisory Committee to represent Village interests as well as review and approve the work of the consultant throughout the planning process. A firm from Buffalo, design based planning, inc. has been retained to work with the Village to coordinate the Plan.

 An integral aspect of the downtown Strategic Plan process is public input to prioritize issues and ensure that public opinion shapes the direction of the Plan.
