Two of the original charter members of the Apalachin Lions were able to attend. They are Richard Seymour who now lives in the Washington state, and Robert Williams of Apalachin.

The guest speaker was Carl L. Battistone, Past International Director of the Lions Club. Battistone is from Bethel Park, Pennsylvania.

The club received proclamations from the Town of Owego, Tioga County, and the New York State Senate designating the week of April 29 to May 5 to be Apalachin Lions Club Week.
Governor Pataki sent a letter to the club in which he said "On behalf of all New Yorkers, I congratulate the Apalachin Club on this milestone occasion and applaud its distinguished membership for their charitable work and civic involvement which serves to advance the noble purpose of Lionism."
