• 55th Opening Day
May 6, Saturday
Opening Day 2006 includes a parade, welcoming ceremonies at Nick Raftis Memorial Field, and a full day of baseball, softball and tee ball games.

Team players line up between 8:00 and 8:20 am on Temple Street in front of the Owego Police Station. The parade marches at precisely 8:30 am led by motorcycle Owego policemen and the VFW Color Guard. The parade route goes from the Central Fire Station and Presbyterian Church up North Avenue and down George Street to Hyde Park.

Owego Little League players and officers thank in advance those motorists who will be inconvenienced for a few minutes by the parade. Remember this is "Owego Little League Day." For the 400 kids, it is their day to parade, play ball, have fun and go home tired.

OLL issues an open invitation to all who support the league to march or ride in the parade and/or take part in the ceremonies at Hyde Park. OLL President Ken Winters welcomes your involvement, whether you are a parent, grandparent, volunteer, an outfield or team sponsor, someone who supports the league with treasure, a friend, past president or officer, or you represent any organization or group not superficially mentioned.
