Jacob Farrell, 4, (above, left) son of Matt and Mary Farrell of Candor, who has been diagnosed with leukemia, had his dream come true last month when he was sworn in as a Junior Deputy by Sheriff Gary Howard (above, right), and presented with a hat, shoulder patch, and a badge. Jacob was given a tour of the facility including jail cells and the dispatcher’s office. Jacob was brought to the sheriff’s office in a patrol car by Lenny Jackson of the Sheriff’s Department. A Spaghetti Dinner Benefit for Jacob will be held on Saturday,
April 8, beginning at 12:00 Noon, at the Candor American Legion. There
will also be a live band, raffles, drawings, 50/50 raffle, Chinese auction,
and a bake sale. Cost is $6.00 per person, $5.00 for seniors, $3.00 for
