Youth Group Participates in Famine

Twenty-four members of the youth group from Blessed Trinity Parish at St. Margaret Mary's Catholic Church in Apalachin, participated in the Thirty Hour Famine on February 24 and 25. Members of the youth group  went with little or no food for 30 hours to experience what hunger feels like.

With the help of friends, family, neighbors, and the church community, the youth group was also able to send more than $2,100 to World Vision to help those that are hungry every day.

The youth group also learned  how much food $5.00 buys and what it's like to sleep in a box. They also  served lunch at a local soup kitchen. The patrons of the kitchen donated money when they learned what the youth were trying to accomplish.

The youth group expresses their thanks to everyone who helped them.
