Apalachin Landmark to be Demolished

The old Seymour's Hardware building on Main Street in
Apalachin has
been condemned by the Town of Owego and is scheduled for
demolition later
this month.

In 1944, Harmon Seymour and his wife, Lucille
(pictured
above), bought Bob Gage Hardware from Robert Gage and
operated it as Seymour's
Hardware until 1969 when their son Richard took over the
business. Seymour's
Hardware closed in 1974.
