Fire Destroys Owego Home
Fire broke out at 582 Fifth Avenue (Route 17C) in Owego shortly after
9:00 pm on Friday, February 3. The Owego Fire Department responded (see
photo below). On the next morning, the Owego Fire Department was called
back to the scene shortly after 7:00 am (see photo above). They were assisted
by the Campville Fire Department. The occupants of the house were not injured,
but the building sustained major structural damage. The cause of the fire
is under investigation by the Tioga County Fire Investigation Team.
