Photo Contests Winners Announced
Animal Photo Contest
 The Tioga County Council on the Arts has announced the winners of the 
2005 Amateur Animal Photo Contest. 

 Eighty-six photographs were entered in this year's contest. The "most popular" photograph received 37 of the 112 votes cast.

 The winners, as chosen by Debra Muska of Animal Images, are: 
 • Best of Show: John Mullen
 • Most Humorous: Steve Brandt
 • Most Photogenic: Patricia Bonamo
 • Honorable Mention: Peter Kofira, Jr., Norm Kemerer, Caryn Hunt, John Mullen, David Ramsay
 • Most Popular: Nancy Powell 

Tioga County Tourism Photo Contest
The Tioga County Tourism Office has announced the winners of "Picture This" 2005 Photo Contest. The contest was held May through September and all photos taken were required to be within the borders of Tioga County. The winning photos will be included in the 2006 Tioga County "River Country" Visitor's Guide, expected to be released in February 2006. Seventy-two photos were submitted by fifteen individuals. Five judges reviewed the images based upon  activity, color, clarity, and tourism relevance/composition. 

The winners are:  
 • 1st Place: "Joshua and the Baby Goats" by Rita Kellogg of Candor
 • 2nd Place: "Enjoying the Susquehanna" by John Mullen of  Endicott
 • 3rd Place: "Fall Kayaking" by  Deena Haner of Candor
 The winners received cash awards: $150 first place, $75 second place, and $50 third place.
