•  Little People/Big People
Tuesdays, 10 - 11 am
 Features short stories, nature walks and crafts. Little people, ages 3 and 4, are asked to bring a big person to share in the adventure. Registration Required $2 members, $3 non-members.

•  Second Saturday Hike
October 8, Saturday, 11am - Noon
 Join a naturalist for a general hike and see what the natural world is doing. Feel free to bring your lunch for after the hike. $3 members, $5 non-members.

•  Fall Foliage Breakfast on Hiawatha Island 
October 9, Sunday, 9 - 11 am
   Climb aboard the pontoon boat, the Susquehanna Shuttle, for a ride to Hiawatha Island. Enjoy a hearty breakfast under the falling leaves and witness some of this areas most spectacular color changes. Explore this unique historical site and wildlife refuge. Please arrive between 8:45  and 9:15am. Reservations required. $17 members, $20 non-members. Children 5-12 years old eat for half price.  Children under 5 eat for free.

•   Close Encounter with Mars
October 10, Monday, 6:30-8:30 pm
  Earth and Mars will have a close encounter this October so the view will be remarkable. Nick Guydosh will give a short program on how to find things in the sky using a star map (provided for all) and information on Mars. Nick will have his telescope set up for viewing Mars and the Moon. If it is cloudy, there will still be a program with more material on astronomy. Registration is highly recommended. $3 for adults and $2 per child with a maximum of $10 per family.

•   Saturday Afternoon Bingo!
First & Third Saturdays, 1 - 4 pm
 Waterman Bingo is now on the first and third Saturdays of every month at 1:00 pm. Doors open at Noon. Early Bird Bonanza at 12:45 pm. $200 jackpot. Cash prizes. All paper. Proceeds benefit the Waterman Center. $3 admission. Food and beverages available.

•   Volunteer Naturalist Meeting
October 19, 9:30 am
  Share some stories about what has been happening outside lately and  discuss upcoming volunteer opportunities. 

•  Halloween Hikes
October 29, Saturday, 6:30 - 8:30 pm    You are sure to see animals on this hike! Meet a bear, an opossum, a skunk, and others along a candle-lit hike.  There will also be stories by the fire, face painting, games and more.  Feel free to wear a costume or come as yourself. Hikes leave every ten minutes. Food and drinks will be available for purchase. Registration is highly recommended, so call early to reserve your spot. $5 for members/ $7 for non-members. Free for children under 4.
