Mud & Fire Potters to Participate in Susquehanna County's Artists' Open House

Ruth Cohen and Archie Johnson, owners of Mud & Fire Potters of Little Meadows, fired their Noborigama kiln September 24 through 25. Volunteers helped stoke the kiln with wood every few minutes until Cone 10 was reached (approximately 2350 degrees Fahrenheit). The kiln was opened and unloaded a week later on October 1. Pictured above: Volunteers Bill Blackburn and Mary help stoke the kiln. Pictured below: Archie Johnson, right, removes pottery from the kiln and hands it to Dave Schmitt (left).  Mud & Fire Potters will be participating in Susquehanna County's Artists' Open House Weekend October 8, 9, and 10.
