Local Alpaca Farms Offer Tours 

The 4th Annual Southern Tier Autumn Alpaca Tour will be held Saturday and Sunday, October 8 and 9, from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.

 Five local alpaca farms will participate. Everyone is invited to visit any or all of the alpaca farms during the two-day tour. No appointment is necessary and admission is free. The local alpaca farms are: 

 Alpacalachin Farms is at 2571 Chestnut Ridge Road in Apalachin is owned by Don and Jen Tompkins.  Check out their alpacas and start Christmas shopping at Alpacalachin Fashions, the farms' store.

 Alpaca Fantasy World is 368 Tiona Road in Newark Valley. Located on 175 acres of a former dairy farm, Alpaca Fantasy World is owned by Ed and Donna Rutkowski.

 Shepherd's Creek Alpacas is at 227 Decker Road in Van Etten. Owners Barb Bubacz and Marc Sodums raise and breed select Suri and Huacaya  alpacas.

 K-Ran Alpacas, owned by Randy and Karen Strong, is at 1744 Straits Corners Road in Barton.

 Nyala Farm Alpacas is at 104 Rockwell Road in Vestal. Andy and Ann Meriwether specialize in alpacas of Peruvian descent.
