Carroll Running for Owego Highway Superintendent

The Friends of Michael Carroll have announced his candidacy for the Town of Owego Highway Superintendent.

Carroll, a Republican running on the Highway Road Reform line on the ballot, pledges to be responsive to the community while using the considerable management and practical experience of the Carroll-Wilkins team to improve our town roads.

The Highway Road Reform platform pledges to the people of Owego:
 1.  To reverse years of neglect.
 2.  To correct drainage that has eroded the integrity of our roads.
 3.  To invest in the roads that serve ALL the town's people and businesses.

Carroll has enlisted the help of Lewis Wilkins, a former Deputy Highway Superintendent, to act as his deputy.  Lew, who had over 16 years' experience working for the Town of Owego Highway Department before going into the private sector of the construction business, says he learned not to waste anything while in private industry, whether it was money, time, or manpower and will bring these skills to the Owego Highway Department.  Lew says, "It will take a few years to bring the town roads back to acceptable standards, but the job needs to be done now."

Carroll has 20 years of managerial experience overseeing both people and budgets in the insurance and retail industries.

Carroll has lived in the community for twelve years with his wife, Maria, and their three boys, Michael, Mario, and Mitchel. He is a coach of youth league football and baseball and was Athletic Director of the Endicott Youth Football League and he also serves as secretary for the Pastoral Council at Our Lady of Good Counsel.
