Have you noticed the miles of flags on the fence between Routes 17 and 434 in Apalachin and Vestal? Who put them there? Why? (see below)

Andrew Giamis adds another flag to the fence between Routes 17 and 434 in Apalachin. Giamis recently completed putting 1800 small American flags along the fence in the Owego-Apalachin-Vestal area to show his support for the troops, which, he emphasizes, isn't the same as supporting the war.  "I invite all people in the Broome-Tioga region to drive east-bound along Route 17 between Owego and Vestal." said Giamis. "You will see one thousand eight hundred flags. These flags represent those troops who have fallen as a result of bad policy and lies. The US troop casualty list has surpassed 1,860 names. I am sorry, but I ran out of flags. The government won't let us see the returning caskets.  Look at the flags. I support our troops.  I want them home, alive. I want President Bush to answer for the lies and deceptions that have cost so many lives." Giamis served in the Air Force in the early 1990s.
