 Eiche, Hoffman, and Martinez Make Eagle Scout
 
Troop 43 of Apalachin is honored to announce that three of their boy scouts attained the Eagle Scout Rank.. In addition to the Merit Badge requirements, each scout exhibited leadership and service by planning and carrying out an Eagle project.

 Kevin Eiche, son of Brooke and Curt Eiche, took charge of repainting the "Drains to River" message on the sewers of the Tioga Terrace neighborhood. 

 Matthew Hoffman, son of Janet and Phillip Hoffman, led the making and installation of a bicycle rack at Waterman Nature Center for his project.

 Michael Martinez, son of Debra and David Martinez, led in building picnic tables and a barbecue pit for St. Margaret Mary's Church, a worship site of the Blessed Trinity parish.

 All three young men graduated from Vestal High School this June and are attending college. Matthew Hoffman is attending Binghamton University, Kevin Eiche is attending  Penn State University, and Michael Martinez is attending Broome Community College. Each of them plans on maintaining an active role in the troop as an Assistant Scoutmaster or a Merit Badge Counselor.
