Ribbon Cutting at Every Real Estate

A Ribbon Cutting was held July 29 to mark the opening of at Douglas R. Every Real Estate, 405 Main Street in Owego. Every, a longtime Owego resident, decided to open a real estate office specializing in the sale of upscale homes based on his belief of a growing economy.

Every began extensive renovations at his Main Street office and commissioned Roger Westgate, an internationally acclaimed wood carver, to design and hand carve an exterior sign decorated with 23 gold leaf.

Customers from Florida, Washington D.C. and Long Island have already seen his upscale homes on the Internet and sales were made.  Every said, "When buyers from these larger metropolitan areas see the value of the homes coupled with the natural beauty of Owego they are absolutely stunned by what their money will buy."  Many of the buyers look for unique features such as ponds, streams, and barns in quiet rural settings. He has been called upon to perform unusual functions as a Broker for these unique properties such as daily visit to groom a lawn following visits from an itinerant flock of geese. "I don't mind," said Mr. Every, "Properties of this type need to be shown picture perfect."  Every planned to run the office as a one-man operation but has already hired several new agents.

Every sees a great future for growth of Owego and is glad to have put down roots in the center of  town.
