• Hot Summer Night Concert - 6 to 8 pm, with Second Class Citizens. At Court House Gazebo, downtown Owego. Owego Kiwanis will be selling hot dogs, hamburgers, soda. Concert is free.

AUGUST 5 - FRIDAY
• Depot Friday Nights - Doors open at 6pm, Music by "Sweet Aroma" at 7pm. At  The Railroad Station, Depot Street, Newark Valley. Free admission.

AUGUST 6 - SATURDAY
• Tioga Journeys - Historic Architecture of Waverly - 10am to Noon. Bus tour. Starts at Tioga Co Historical Museum, 110 Front St. $10. Call 687-7440 for reservations.

AUGUST 7 - SUNDAY
• WWII Veterans Recognition Dinner - 1pm social hour, 2 pm prime rib dinner. At Post 1371, 207 Main St., Owego. Free for Tioga Co. WWII veterans, spouses, widows, widowers. $12 for all others. Reservations: call 687-1371. Bring WWII memorabilia for display.

• Kirby Band Concert - 7:30 pm at Kirby Park in Nichols.

• Waverly Racing Fan Fair - 12 Noon to 8 pm, Broad St., Waverly. Nascar celebrities show cars.  Souvenirs, food, bands, vendors

AUGUST 11 - THURSDAY
• Owego Community Street Fair - 2 to 6 pm, on Fulton St. in Turtle Town section of the Village of Owego. Free food, games, live music, entertainment. Free.

• Tioga County Democratic Committee Annual Chicken BBQ - 6 pm at Hickories Park in Owego. Guest Speakers include Andrew Cuomo and Congressman Maurice Hinchey. Tickets are $12 per person Call (607) 699-3868.

AUGUST 13 - SATURDAY
• Newark Valley Days - 9am to dark. At Newark Valley Depot and other locations including Trout Ponds and Village Green. Parade at 11 am. Chicken BBQ 11:30 am till gone. Children's games, craft vendors, art show, quilt show, entertainment. Fireworks at 9 pm.
