Local Teacher Seeks Help
to Make a Difference in Africa

Karen Doolittle, a global studies teacher at Vestal Senior High School, will be having a garage sale on  Saturday, May 7, to raise funds for her  upcoming volunteer placement in Africa this summer. The sale will be all day, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, at 73 Coventry Road, in Crestview Heights. Both large and small items will be at the sale, many of which were donated by community members.

In Tanzania, Karen will be assisting local social service organizations in HIV/AIDS awareness and/or educating children in orphanages. She is volunteering with Cross-Cultural Solutions, a world leader in operating international programs. The organization has been profiled in more than 300 news outlets and is recognized by the United Nations for their social and economic developments around the world.

All charitable purchases made at the sale will go directly towards the program fee. As with most international volunteer programs, volunteers must pay to lend their support for humanitarian aid. For more information about the sale, program, or to contribute a tax-deductible donation, please contact, Karen Doolittle at 785-5937.
