Apalachin Youth Attends
Leadership Conference in D.C.

Donald Castellucci III, son of Donald and Victoria Castellucci, Jr. of Apalachin, attended the Junior National Young Leaders Conference (JrNYLC) April 23 through 28 in Washington, D.C. along with more than 200 middle school students from across the country.
Donald participated in leadership seminars and visited many sites such as the White House, the Capitol, and Williamsburg. He learned about the impact of the nation's leaders on America's history, and was able to meet several Congressional staff members.
JrNYLC accepts outstanding 6th and 7th grade students who demonstrate maturity, academic excellence and leadership potential. Students are selected to attend JrNYLC by teachers and mentors within their community.
Donald was nominated by two of his teachers at OLS-Seton Middle School where he is in 7th grade. He has a 95 average, and is involved in baseball, soccer, basketball, and track.
The JrNYLC is sponsored by the Congressional Youth Leadership Council (CYLC), a nonprofit, nonpartisan, educational organization. Their  mission is to foster and inspire young people to achieve their full leadership potential. To date, over 200,000 young people representing all 50 states and the District of Columbia, American Territories, and over 100 countries have participated in CYLC programs.
