Apalachin Girl to Help Walkers Find Cure for Diabetes

 On March 13, Janelle Baron of Apalachin will be the ambassador for Walkfest 2005 - an annual event sponsored by the Southern Tier Chapter of the American Diabetes Association. Janelle is the daughter of Donald and Anne Baron.
 If you would like to help Janelle in her efforts to find a cure for Diabetes, you are encouraged to participate in the indoor walk which will be held on Sunday, March 13, from 9:00 to 10:00 am at the Oakdale Mall's Center Court in Johnson City. Registration for the event begins at 8:00 am. 

 Walkfest is a timed walk and distance is not recorded. Prizes will be awarded to individuals based on dollars raised. There will also be prizes for the top fund-raising teams and door prizes will be given away throughout the walk. 

 The goal of Walkfest 2005 is to raise awareness of Diabetes and its effects, to support Diabetes research and the efforts towards finding a cure and the promotion of Diabetes programs and education.
