Obituary
Kevin G. Millar, of Roxbury, NY, died on February 25 at Bassett Hospital, Cooperstown, New York. He was born on November 25, 1920 in Tyrone, Ireland to John and Catherine (Redmond) Millar. He arrived in the US one year later and spent his early years in the Bronx, NY. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp First Marine Division from 1942-1945 in the Pacific War Theater, seeing action in Bougainville and Guadalcanal. He was married to Jean Farrell of the Bronx in 1945. He is survived by his wife, Jean, of Roxbury and children Kevin J. of Owego, Jean St. John of Washingtonville, NY, Andrew of Trout Creek, NY, Edmund, of Roxbury, NY, Maureen of Mt. Tremper, NY and Anne Rajs, of New Paltz, NY, a sister Mary Lussen of Newtown, Ct., and a nephew, Brian Schwann of New Jersey. He is also survived by his grandchildren David Hadden, Christine Hadden, Michael Millar, Allison Millar, Chloe Rajs, Olivia Rajs and four great-grand children. A son, Peter, killed in Vietnam in 1967, predeceased him. Most of his life was spent in the food business. In New Jersey, he was the General Manager of Hudson Wholesale Foods of Lyndhurst, NJ. He purchased Roxbury Distributing Company in Roxbury, NY in 1966 and operated it until his retirement in 1982. A Memorial Service was held on March 5 at Our Lady of Good Council Church in Roxbury, NY.
