Apalachin Lions Club News

 The Apalachin Lions 2004 Christmas Basket Program helped 54 families which included 109 adults and 97 children. Forty lions volunteered 352 hours of their time to make the program a success.

 Each family received:
  110 pounds of food 
      One 12-pound turkey 
  One 50-pound bag of potatoes
  Two or three new toys per child
          (15 years or younger)
  Two or three used toys per child  (15 and younger)
       One $10 gift certificate to Sweeney's Market per member of the family
  One $10 gift certificate to K-Mart per child (15 years and younger)
  One $10 gift certificate to K-Mart per child (16-18 years)
  One poinsettia to senior citizens per family.
 
Organizations that were involved in the 2004 Christmas Basket Program include: The Apalachin Lions Club, Boy Scout Troops 32 and 45, Girl Scout Troop 208, the Apalachin Library, the Apalachin Elementary School, Tioga Hill Elementary School, Lockheed Martin Club, Endicott K-Mart, Sweeney's Market, First Liberty Bank, Apalachin Pharmacy, BOCES students, and the Apalachin Fire Department Auxiliary.
