Carole DiGiacomo Honored 

 On November 10, Carole DiGiacomo was honored by the Broome County Status of Women Council. Seventeen organizations presented their honorees for the year 2004.  Carole was nominated by Beta Sigma Phi Southern Tier Council. She was acknowledged for her strong commitment to Beta Sigma Phi and her record of service to the community.  Congratulations Carole for being honored as their Woman of Achievement.

 Carole has been a member of Theta Iota chapter for twenty-seven years.  She is currently treasurer and serves as chapter representative to council. Carole has held many offices, chairing and serving on all committees, especially service. She might have welcomed you to the Empire Games or sold you some ACS daffodils. Carole initiated and manages Theta Iota's ongoing service project, which is conducting Bingo sessions for the special needs unit at Castle Gardens Community.

 Carole is active in the Vestal Senior Citizen's club.  She co-chairs the travel committee, helping to select and arrange ten trips a year for the membership. She also works at the Vestal Front Street Days and on the committee planning the yearly anniversary dinner. An active member of Our Lady of Sorrows church, Carole is on the Hospitality Sunday committee, the Funeral Luncheon group and the Church Picnic committee. She also volunteers alongside her husband, Charlie, on many Lions service projects. You'll find her each year working at the Apalachin Car Show, the Empire Speech and Hearing Camp, assisting at the Ti-Li socials, and wrapping Christmas gifts for needy families.

 Carole has been married for 46 years and is the mother of three and  grandmother of six.
