A three-car accident occurred on Sunday, October 2, at approximately
1:30 pm, at the intersection of Pennsylvania Avenue and Main Street in
Apalachin. A red Nissan heading west on Main Street failed to stop at a
stop sign, and hit a silver Ford Taurus which was heading north on Pennsylvania
Avenue. The Nissan then struck a Ford Explorer which was heading south
on Pennsylvania Avenue, causing it to roll over and come to rest against
a utility pole. Five people were injured. The Apalachin Fire Department
and Squad responded to the accident. They were assisted by the Campville
and Vestal Emergency Squads. The accident is under investigation by the
Tioga County Sheriff's Department.
