Parking Woes Drive Shopper Away

While visiting my parents in Pennsylvania, my mother decided to take me to a quaint little town in New York called Owego for an afternoon of shopping - sounded like a nice idea, and it was - we traversed Front Street, stopping at the lovely little stores therein, even having a nice lunch at a cafe. We crossed over Front to another street and continued on until we had tired. It was an enjoyable day up to that point. Upon returning to my car, I found a parking ticket for exceeding the 2-hour limit in the village.

My thoughts on this are: How do you expect to encourage tourism and patronage of your adorable little stores, if a person from out of state can't park for more than two hours?

Nonetheless, our day ended with a trip to the police department, where (a very nice lady at the police department helped me). I paid the fine. I now have no interest in ever returning to Owego, NY, and that is very sad, not only for me, but also for the store owners therein.
